“ service was great and food was even better! got #12 and devoured the whole thing! veggies were fresh and the noodles were perfect ”
“ First time here based on recommendation from a friend. Hu Tieu Kho was delicious! Reminds me of the savory dry wonton noodles except that there's no wonton but there are quail eggs, fried pork skin, slices of pork, shrimp and pork giblets. Together with the beef soup, it hit the spot on a cold day. Cha Gio was crispy, and the filling was tasty. Some places have fried spring rolls that are on the mushy end and that tends to be very oily. But not here. Com Tam (broken rice) plate was yummy. The pork chop was tender and flavorful. The steam pork egg was excellent - many places serve this too but they tend to be dry. But it was juicy, tender and full of flavor here. Only thing that we didn't like here was their slice steak pho. It may be personal preference as the soup had a strong taste of a spice or herb that we are not used to and so it threw us off from the usual pho. Will be back for more Hu Tieu Kho, Cha Gio and Com Tam. Parking is tight and it's the part of Oakland where you have to be careful. ”
“ Came here with my friends and there was no wait to get seated here at noon on Saturday. Good: - The food was amazing- I was surprised how much I liked the Hu Tieu Kho - I've heard about how good it was from other reviews but didn't realize it was THAT good. The soup was amazing - the amount of saltiness was perfect. Get egg noodles and larger size! Well worth. - The prices and portion sizes are great - we got a ton of food for only $20 each - Super clean and modern interior inside Bad: - The place was in a fairly sketchy area but other than that the experience was pretty close to perfect Overall would come again, still thinking about the food today! ”
“ The service and food are always consistent and excellent. Hands down, this is the best hu tieu kho in the Bay Area. Their rice plates are also very good, and the portions are quite generous. The owner is incredibly sweet and hardworking! I usually order takeout here once or twice a week because my boyfriend and I love this place so much. We always get #7 with egg noodles. I enjoy eating the dry noodles with the sauce first, and then I like to finish by adding the noodles to the soup after heating it up. It's like getting to enjoy two dishes at once! ”
“ I got the #7, Hu Tieu Kho, as I would normally at another restaurant, and WHERE HAVE I BEEN??? THE FLAVOR WAS IMMACULATE. I got it with egg noodles, and I loved my food so much! The serving size was generous. The service was attentive. I wish parking was easier in this area, because I cannot shut up about how good my food was! ”
“ Top favorite for Hu Tieu Kho - dry. You have to get it with the egg noodles. The regular sized bowl is big enough for two to share, along with some apps, but you can upgrade to a Large for a few bucks more. The bowl is packed with all the goodies like quail eggs, pork skin, and hella meat. I could do without the lettuce but it's just a couple pieces anyways. The sauce on the noodles is so good, but you can add more from the condiments on your table. The chili oil is one of my favs, hella flavor. You get a bowl of soup on the side which you can sip on or add in to your dry noodles to help loosen things up so you can mix, mix, mix! The eggrolls here are good but they're skimpy af with the nuoc mam (fish sauce dip). The shrimp/pork spring rolls are nice and thiccccc here, but I noticed they also have chinese sausage spring rolls as well. Would def get these as a little side dish to go along with my noodles. We had a nice juicy coconut juice but they didn't open the coconut for us to eat the inside. I'm sure they would have had we asked, but it would have been nice to have it pre-done. The menu here isn't big. It's also a small space inside, with street parking only. The staff is nice enough but was hard to flag someone down for water refill. ”
“ One of my favorite stops in east oakland and a true hangover cure. The Hu Tieu Kho (dry noodles) was legit and sauce was perfect. The beef stew with French bread is worth trying as well - bread was an excellent vehicle to dip and soak up that stew. The star of the show for me was the Bo Bia - spring rolls with Chinese sausage. Like wow! It was an excellent change up from the typical shrimp you see in egg rolls and left me bookmarking this place for ny future hungry self looking for a crunchy fresh bite packed with that meaty flavor. ”
“ Me and my bf are regulars here!! We always get the bo kho with rice noodles to go. I have tried the beef sate as well but still prefer the bo kho. The owners are two guys, they tell us they make a certain quantity of beef stew and will have until they sell out. That's the only item I get here and it's always so good. The broth is seasoned to perfection where it's not too salty or bland. The big chunks of chuck roast beef is so tender that you can break it apart wit your chopsticks. Today was our first time dining in since we always just do takeaway. The service here is amazing, they start you off with either hot tea or ice water. They also have condiments on the table if you would like to dress up your noodle soups. Located a block away from International Boulevard。Parking is pretty limited, but you should be able to find parking. ”
